This Site in Spanish, made by interfaith marriages, is the only one of its kind in the world. Tens of millions of people form interfaith marriages or are sons/daughters or close relatives of them, this Site is of particular interest for them.

The object of this Site is to exhibit texts that contribute to:

1- Clarify to interfaith marriages, to their sons, relatives, and to the society in general, the positive aspects and the problems of interfaith marriages and their sons.

2- Defend interfaith marriages and their sons/daughters’ rights not to be discriminated.

Although many of the texts at this Site are about the conflicts in Jewish communities with interfaith marriages of Jewish and their sons/daughters, for interfaith marriages that do NOT have a Jewish integrant it will also be very useful to read these texts, since there they will find an analysis of the problems that are common to all interfaith marriages.

Why are many of the texts at this site about interfaith marriages between Jewish and non-Jewish?

Because there are no other people for whom the matter of interfaith marriages is so relevant as it is for the Jewish people. Because the growing increase of Jewish’ interfaith marriages can mean a rapid demographical growth of Jewish population or the acceleration of the current demographical extinction process that is being experienced by Jewish communities throughout the world. Because out of every 100 Jewish who in 2009 marry in the world 67 marry non-Jewish (are much more in the population of Jewish who are university professionals, and fewer in the population of Jewish who have not graduated from university. At this Site we shall take the number 67% because it is the one accepted and spread by the most important Jewish institutions, that the actual number is over 70 %). Jewish leaders recognize that interfaith marriages are increasing every year. In 15 to 20 years it can be 90% or more. (These statistics exclude the State of Israel).

A majority of them and their sons/daughters leave Judaism because of the discrimination and rejection they suffer and that is caused in Jewish communities by orthodox Rabbis.

The matter of the growth of interfaith marriages and of the demographic extinction of Jews is generally kept silent in the Jewish communities.

This suddenly changes when the current government of Israel received a report in which it was said that the current demographical extinction process of Jews caused by interfaith marriages is getting to alarming levels (we are saying it at our Site a long time ago) that something should be done immediately.

The government took the problem as a Matter of State, but instead of taking steps on the line that we advise at this Site, and that is maintained by the most outstanding sector of Judaism, that of making easy and motivating to approach the children of interfaith marriages to Judaism, the government under orthodox Rabbis’ pressure started on September, 2009, an aggressive world campaign, even by television, against interfaith marriages and their sons/daughters.

The government of Israel made a great and very serious mistake, thus worsening the situation, accelerating the demographical extinction. Because that campaign shall not reduce the number of interfaith marriages, and because they feel hurt hundreds of thousands of people in the world who are now members of interfaith marriages or their children and who chose Judaism, can leave Judaism, even before the attack to their father the children shall get far from the Jewish mother and the non-Jewish father, although they are recognized by the Israeli government as Jewish under the Jewish law of the womb.

At this site we receive from the whole world thousands of emails from interfaith marriages and their sons saying that they are outraged. In EE.UU. there were expressions of rejection to that campaign. This Site proposes the only and best solution for the serious problem of the demographical extinction of Jews: changing the Jewish law of the womb, accepting the concept of reformist Rabbis, who consider not only the son/daughter of a Jewish mother, but also the son/daughter of a Jewish father, as a Jewish.

Seeing this serious event, defending the right to be Jewish that interfaith marriages and their children who wish to be so, have, and without having to tolerate discriminations, and with the wish to contribute to solve the problem of demographical extinction, at this Site we present to the public opinion the following communiqué:

INTERFAITH MARRIAGES’ COMMUNIQUÉ

As the only solution to prevent the demographical extinction of Jews in the Jewish communities of the world we PROPOSE:

That the government of Israel recognizes for all legal and political purposes to accept the reformist Rabbis’ concept, who consider not only the Jewish son/daughter of a Jewish mother, as well as the son/daughter of a Jewish father as Jewish.

If it does, the conservative Rabbis shall also do so quickly (that sign of the Israeli government shall strengthen the conservative Rabbis’ sector who wishes that change), the reformist religious have already done so.

That new situation shall weaken politically and economically orthodox Rabbis, and fundamentalist sectors of Judaism shall thus lose their political influence.

As these events occur, the Jewish communities shall stop to be hostile to the sons/daughters of interfaith marriages.

In order to approach the children of interfaith marriages o Judaism and thus prevent demographical extinction, that attitude of the government of Israel is essential, but only that is not enough. At the same time the Jewish leaders must make an educational campaign in all the Jewish communities that shall resignify the Jewish historical values so that a proposal that is attractive for the current human being is organized. This shall succeed in bringing to Judaism a percentage of sons/daughters of interfaith marriages sufficiently important as to guarantee the continuity and revitalization of Judaism in the dispersion. Then, the orthodox Rabbis shall also be forced to accept the changes in the Jewish Law of Womb, in doing so they shall be forced develop their ideology towards less fundamentalist positions.

This process shall inevitably result in that Judaism shall acquire advanced humanistic characteristics in the world. That Judaism can create and significantly contribute new concepts that shall inspire the world leaders to fight better against hunger, poverty, injustice, ethics, and mediocrity. It shall be a great chance for millenarian Judaism to gain today respect from the whole humanity.

That revitalized Judaism shall find the way to make a fair peace with Palestinians come true, which shall allow that region to stop being a danger of destruction for the whole humanity and to become a rapid development pole for both peoples.

That Judaism shall contribute to the expected Messianic time of a world without wars and without hunger.

That Judaism shall be more and more attractive for the sons/daughters of interfaith marriages, they shall see that it fills their spirit, that is worth while, integrating a people that retake the justification of its existence as a function of the Messianic concept of contributing to a better world.

Many people shall say that under the current conditions to seek that Judaism is a dream, each important advance of humanity also began as a dream.

This dream can come true, if each reader, Jewish or non-Jewish, makes comments on that proposal to another person, this shall create a social pressure that shall take the Israeli government to change the Jewish Law of the Womb, which shall give rise to a process that shall break out the aforementioned events.

With that enriching contribution of the sons and daughters of interfaith marriages Judaism shall solve its current ethical and demographical crisis, and shall be launched again to the world driven and based on the best of its millenarian history.

Judaism does not have another way to justify its existence before the same Jewish, Judaism shall be that Judaism or shall not be Judaism.

Thus, this Site can help tens of millions of people in the world, non-Jewish and Jewish, to better know Judaism, its foreign and domestic problems, which shall contribute to destroy prejudgments, shall cause the relatives of interfaith marriages to be more tolerant when the latter decide to educate their children in either religion. Many of these relatives shall be more interested in supporting, in order to strengthen, the Jewish sectors that they consider more positive for Judaism and for the world, they shall more actively support peace as the only solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. All this shall be beneficial, in Israel and in the diaspora, for the development of a Judaism that based on the best aspects of its millenarian culture, shall give the best of itself for the peace in the world, and for the common building of every people in a better world.

- 2. This Site contributes to reduce anti-Semitism

(Anti-Semitism is analyzed in several texts at this Site because it is a matter of particular interest for interfaith marriages with Jewish integrants, it affects them differently from the way it affects Jewish’ non-interfaith marriages).

This Site contributes to reduce anti-Semitism because it clarifies the anti-Semite’s psychological aspects, and how politicians (who may or may not be anti-Semites) in order to achieve their objectives promote in the population the “anti-Semitic way of thinking”.

In some of the texts that are exhibited, it is shown that in Judaism, like in all populations, there is a diversity of confronted groups, interests and ideologies, which is the best evidence that the two main arguments the anti-Semitic “way of thinking” is based on are false:

A.- “ALL Jews are equal among themselves”.

B.- “ALL Jews have got something negative that makes them different and worse than ALL non-Jews.

For these reasons, when anti-Semites accuse a Jew, or a group of Jews, of having characteristic, behavior or ideology, that they consider negative, they think that it is legitimate to generalize and blame ALL Jews, ALL Jews have got it, and only they have got it.

Because of that “way of thinking” there are anti-Semitic groups that accuse Jews of the most varied and contradictory “faults” (in their opinion), they say, for example, ALL Jews are: exploitative, tight-fisted, communists, capitalists, revolutionary, millionaire, fundamentalist religious, atheists, etc.

The anti-Semitic “way of thinking” is based on two views:

- The first view is blind to see that there is diversity among Jews. They substitute seeing a complex reality wherein there is a diversity of groups and interests among Jews, with a superficial view that is synthesized in the concept “ALL Jews think in the same way”.

- The second view sees Jews as the main responsible for all evils, this is also a view that simplifies and distorts reality.

Based on these two views, a hate against ALL Jews is created in the individual. This hate sometimes makes them victims of themselves, when it causes them such a degree of psychological tension that it moves them to find a relief in physically attacking Jews. That is why in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, anti-Semites never propose ways leading to peace, they just incite Palestinians to annihilate Israel, although they know that should they succeed in doing so, that would also be a disaster for Palestinians and for other nearby populations, since should a new Jewish holocaust be inevitable, Israeli would be most liable to cause their atomic bombs to explode destroying the populations that they consider as enemies, even if this causes the own annihilation.

The anti-Semitic “way of thinking” makes peace difficult, with the seeming object of supporting Palestinians it induces them to war, in detriment of both Palestinian and Israeli people.

The anti-Semitic “way of thinking” is supported by orthodox Rabbis who try and give a particular meaning to the “Jewish Law of the Womb”, saying that Jews “are all made equal among themselves, and different to ALL non-Jewish, by being born with a different and superior soul”. A great majority of the Jews who are not orthodox religious, when they have the chance of learning about the existence of that concept, they reject it since they consider that it is absurd and promotes anti-Semitism.

- 3. This Site contributes to improve the ethical and reflection quality in Judaism in proposing that the “Jewish Law of the Womb” and the “different and superior soul” concept be amended or annulled

Texts that analyze the subject of the Jewish Law of the Womb (only a son/daughter who is born of a Jewish mother is recognized as a Jew) are exhibited. It is shown that it is a Law that not only attacks and discriminates interfaith marriages and their sons/daughters in Jewish communities but is also detrimental for the entire Judaism. In these texts a proposal is made to the Jewish people to annul or amend that Law accepting the Reformist Jewish religious current, which recognizes anyone who is a son/daughter of Jewish mother or father as a Jew.

In these texts there is also a proposal to vigorously oppose to orthodox Rabbis’ concept that Jews have got a “soul that is different from and superior to” non-Jews’ soul (that they receive when they are born of a “Jewish mother’s womb”). This is the main belief orthodox Rabbis are based on to promote currently in Jewish communities discrimination and rejection of interfaith marriages and their sons/daughters who wish to be Jewish. Because they do not have the special Jewish soul the “contaminate” the Jewish people. Jewish leaders said that they consider this belief as “racist”.

This Site contributes to improve the ethical and reflection quality in Judaism, by causing to think about these two proposals and their grounds in the texts being exhibited.

- 4. This Site contributes to prevent the demographical extinction of Jewish communities in the world

The texts being exhibited show that:

- The arguments of the orthodox Rabbis who currently promote the attitude of continuing to reject interfaith marriages and their sons/daughters who wish to be Jewish are irrational. That rejection formerly played the role, that it no longer plays today, of preserving the physical existence of the Jewish people.

- Today that attitude is creating the current demographical suicide of the Jews’ diaspora. The Jews in the Jewish communities in the world are rapidly disappearing demographically.

- The opposite should be done, motivating interfaith marriages’ sons/daughters to approach Judaism, is the only way of ensuring the Jewish people’s demographical survival.

- 5. This Site contributes to Israelis and Palestinians’ peace

This Site contributes to Israelis and Palestinians’ peace, since it creates an environment that is more favorable for it since it contributes, for the reasons mentioned above, to:

- Reduce anti-Semitism that by its preaching induces to war, in detriment of both people.

- Improve the ethical and reflection quality in Judaism

- Show in some of the texts, with strong arguments, that it shall contribute to achieve Israelis and Palestinians’ peace if both people neutralize their most fundamentalist religious sectors, an essential condition to be able to create a peaceful and beneficial coexistence of Israelis and Palestinians.

III. ABOUT THE GENERAL COORDINATOR OF THE SITE

The director of this site is Naum Kliksberg.

Psychologist and sociologist.

He is specialist in the following matters: couple conflicts, family, health and education.

- He formed an interfaith marriage (Jewish-Christian). Under that condition, moved by his own experiences, he is one of the professionals who has most investigated and written in the world about the psychological and sociological aspects of Jewish-non-Jewish interfaith marriages.

En his texts he reports the true and hidden ideological and political factors why orthodox Rabbis currently promote keeping in effect, in the Jewish communities in the world, the rejection and discrimination against interfaith marriages and their sons/daughters, not recognizing as Jewish those who wish to be so.

He shows in his analysis that this rejection is causing most interfaith marriages and their sons/daughters to leave Judaism, and this is the main factor that is causing the current accelerated demographical extinction process of the Jews who live in the world outside Israel.

In his writings he also reports that many leaders in the Jewish communities hide information from the Jews about this matter (in some cases for individual interests), that is why they prevent clarifying activities, lectures, debates on this matter from being conducted, and articles from being published in Jewish newspapers. When under the pressure of the members of an institution any activity is made on the matter, or an article is published, they generally avoid inviting specialists in the interfaith marriages matter who can analyze it in depth and from the interfaith marriages’ view.

In his texts he presents declarations by relevant intellectuals, and by outstanding Jewish leaders, from Israel, United States, and from other Jewish communities in the world, stating that the rejection of interfaith marriages and their sons/daughters must be finished, and that behaviors such as that of this Site must be supported, which promotes no more silence, providing information so that each Jew can have more elements of judgment to enrich their opinions about the matter.

Naum Kliksberg agreed to direct this Site on Internet because he considers that it is socially useful to be able to give information from it that shall contribute to reduce prejudgments and discriminations that exist in every population and in every religion against interfaith marriages, by their most fundamentalist religious groups. That is why at this site many texts are presented that are useful, not only for interfaith marriages one of whose members is Jewish, but they are also useful for all interfaith marriages, Christians who married Buddhists, Islamic and Catholics, etc., for example 15 texts are offered about Which God? Which religion? (see the button on the left of the screen) which contribute to the reflection that every interfaith marriage should make in building their religious identity, whichever may be the religion of each member of the couple.

In his professional activities he has fulfilled duties related to matters of couple conflicts, family, health and education, such as:

- Advisor of social, family, education and health programs, of: the United Nations (UN), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education (OEI), the Regional Organism for Advising Deputies and Senators of the Latin American Parliament (CESAPAL). He was also a member of Advising teams of 15 (fifteen) Ministers of 6 (six) governments of several countries.

- He was appointed Teacher at 8 (eight) Universities, and advisor of Rectors and Deans at 6 (six) Universities.

- He directed Institutes of Psychological Services to couples and families.

- He gave lectures on scientific subjects invited by institutions and Universities from: United States, Israel, Argentina, Venezuela and Colombia. Countries where his opinion about professional subjects was required in television and radio shows, in interviews for newspapers and magazines.

Naum Kliksberg started investigating the deepest mechanisms of human intelligence related to learning processes. He is investigating more than 20 years ago the deepest mechanisms of human intelligence in their relationship to psychophysical health, to the system that makes it possible that the biochemical processes in the body that produce unexpected improvements in health, and even spontaneous cures (also called by physicians “spontaneous remissions”) in many people with serious diseases, are made.
