The Director of the Site is Naum Kliksberg.

Psychologist and sociologist.

- He created at universities from several countries the first services of University Pedagogy in the American continent (including US).

- He trained hundreds of university teachers in University Pedagogy.

- He wrote academic books and articles edited by governments, publishing houses and universities.

- The University of Buenos Aires granted him the Honor Diploma.

 
- He made a pioneer scientific experience by being a member, since it was formed, of the team of the 6 main advisors of Dr. Luis Alberto Machado, first Minister of government for the Development of Human Intelligence (1979-1983) in the world. He was appointed by the President of Venezuela Dr. L. H. Campins.

Dr. Machado, as Minister of State held that office by implementing the most ambitious, original and massive educational program, that has been carried out in the world. It consisted in potentiating, by “specific” pedagogical methods, the Development of Human Intelligence and Creativity in millions of people. UNESCO, Harvard University, and other internationally renowned institutions collaborated in this effort.

While he advised Minister Machado, Naum Kliksberg representing the Government of Venezuela personally advised the president of Israel, Yitzhak Navon, about the importance for the development of countries of increasing the educational institutions’ efforts in improving the specific pedagogical methods that make it possible to develop, as much as possible, the students’ intelligent and creative thinking capacity.

Later, at the President of Israel’s suggestion, Naum Kliksberg advised the Rector’s Office of the University of Bar Ilan, in Israel, for whom he made a project about the convenience of creating a course devoted to the subject of the Development of Human Intelligence, which would be an important and pioneer academic background, his proposal was accepted. The University created the Subject “Subject taught by Luis Alberto Machado for Human Modifiability and the Development of Intelligence”, it was inaugurated with an international symposium at the University, on November, 1980, with the attendance of scientists from the whole world, specially invited as speaker Naum Kliksberg gave the lecture: “Reflections about the Education of a Creative Professional at Universities”.

This Site deals with the subject: Why is it that in some cases there are people who suffering a serious disease have improvements in their health that are unexpected for their physicians, and even in some of them there occur “spontaneous cures”? (also called by physicians “spontaneous remissions”, in many cases physicians attribute them to the “Placebo Effect”). Why does the “Placebo Effect” improve health and occasionally cause “spontaneous cures”?

At this Site physicians’ and Naum Kliksberg’s texts are set forth free, which are about the power of the “Placebo Effect” to improve health, and about what can be done to cause it.

The “Placebo Effect” is in the first place in a list of the 13 most inexplicable phenomena for the science of today. That is to say that the “Placebo Effect” is considered as the greatest mystery of all those that exist in nature. That list was published on March 19, 2005 in one of the most renowned scientific magazines of the world: New Scientist.
